Story & Narrative

Story Implementation Specialist

Remote (Discord-based)

Volunteer (with potential for commission-based contract work)

About the Role

Help bring Titanborn’s world to life by turning scripts into immersive, playable content. As a Typewriter Story Implementation Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in building the narrative infrastructure of Titanborn. Using our custom fork of the Typewriter plugin and our Titan Extension, you’ll sequence dialogue, synchronize animations, and structure quest logic that forms the backbone of our story experience.

You’ll be embedded within both the Story Implementation and Story Writing teams—receiving training in visual scripting and narrative design alike—so you gain a holistic view of how world-building and technical implementation come together. Specialization in either area (technical or creative) may follow once you demonstrate proficiency and passion in your chosen field.

Responsibilities

  • Implement narrative content: quests, dialogue trees, cutscenes, and in-world interactions using Typewriter + Titan Extension.

  • Synchronize assets: align dialogue with character animations, voice lines, and gameplay events for seamless storytelling.

  • Convert raw scripts: work with writers to translate story drafts into structured in-game sequences.

  • Collaborate on feature work: troubleshoot logic flows and partner with developers to extend plugin capabilities.

  • Craft story elements: contribute to world-building documents, scene outlines, and narrative pacing strategies.

  • Propose enhancements: suggest optimizations, new interactive mechanics, or sequencing techniques to elevate player immersion.

Preferred Skills

  • Narrative experience: background in story or world-building, creative writing, or narrative design.

  • Technical adaptability: ability to work with visual scripting tools or modular plugin frameworks.

  • Logic-tree fluency: familiarity with scripting, command-block logic, or branching dialogue systems.

  • Collaborative mindset: strong communication skills and a willingness to learn both creative and technical workflows.

  • Typewriter plugin: knowledge is a plus but not required—we’ll train you.
